Description

CK18 is a cytokeratin with a molecular weight of 45 kDa. It is mainly expressed in monolayer and pseudostratified epithelium, but negative in stratified squamous epithelium. It is expressed in glandular epithelium, transitional epithelium and hepatocytes. It is mainly used for the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma.

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to the amino acid region 200 - 300 of the human Cytokeratin 18 protein.

Specificity

The antibody can specifically recognize human CK18 protein, and shows no cross reaction with CK1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20. In western blotting of Hela and MCF7 cell lysates, the antibody can label a 45 kDa band corresponding to CK18.

Formulation

The antibody is provided in liquid form in phosphate - buffered saline with 50% glycerol, 0.05% BSA, and 0.05% Proclin 300.

Purification

The antibody was purified by protein G affinity chromatography.
