P57kip2 is a cell cycle inhibitor and tumor suppressor. The gene is mainly located on the mother's chromosome 11. By blocking the G1 / S phase transition in the cell cycle, we can realize the negative regulation of the cell cycle, and then prevent cell proliferation and tumor formation. In complete hydatidiform mole, there is a lack of maternal gene and p57 negative expression, while in partial hydatidiform mole, there are genes of both parents and p57 positive expression, which can be used for the study of early hydatidiform mole pregnancy.
