Oct-2 is a B-cell transcription factor that binds to coactivator Bob. 1 to activate the transcription of immunoglobulin gene. It plays a role in the formation of germinal centers and the differentiation of B cells into plasma cells. OCT2 is highly expressed in all mature B cells and low expressed in pre-B cells, T cells and myeloid cells. It is a marker of B cell differentiation. It can be used to identify B cells and B-cell lymphoma.
