GLUT1/SLC2A1 Rabbit mAb

Confocal imaging of paraffin-embedded Mouse liver tissue using GLUT1/SLC2A1 Rabbit mAb (A11727, dilution 1:200) followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (AS007, dilution 1:500) (Red). DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue). Objective: 40x. Perform high pressure antigen retrieval with 0.01 M citrate buffer (pH 6.0) prior to IF staining.

This gene encodes a major glucose transporter in the mammalian blood-brain barrier. The encoded protein is found primarily in the cell membrane and on the cell surface, where it can also function as a receptor for human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV) I and II. Mutations in this gene have been found in a family with paroxysmal exertion-induced dyskinesia.
