The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Purification
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Western blot analysis of lysates from K562 cells, using Retinoblastoma (Phospho-Ser811) Antibody. The lane on the right is blocked with the phospho peptide.
Immunofluorescence analysis of HUVEC cells, using Retinoblastoma (Phospho-Ser811) Antibody. The picture on the right is blocked with the phospho peptide.
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (Phospho-ELISA) for Immunogen Phosphopeptide (Phospho-left) and Non-Phosphopeptide (Phospho-right), using Retinoblastoma (Phospho-Ser811) Antibody
