Description
Napsin A is a 45kDa molecular weight gastric enzyme like aspartate protease, belonging to peptidase A1 family. The protein is highly expressed in human lung and kidney, but low in spleen. Napsin A is expressed in lung type II epithelium and lung adenocarcinoma. It has high sensitivity and specificity in lung adenocarcinoma. It is often used in combination with TTF- 1 to determine whether the tumor is of lung origin.
