Confocal imaging of Hep G2 cells using FABP1 Rabbit mAb (M0598, dilution 1:100) followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (SA1138, dilution 1:500) (Red).The cells were counterstained with α-Tubulin Mouse mAb (W0051, dilution 1:400) followed by incubation with 488-conjugated Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) (SA0662, dilution 1:500) (Green).DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue).Objective: 100x.

Description
This gene encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in liver. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. This protein and FABP6 (the ileal fatty acid binding protein) are also able to bind bile acids. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism.
