Confocal imaging of HeLa cells using GSK3β Rabbit mAb (M0435, dilution 1:200) followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (SA1138, dilution 1:500) (Red).The cells were counterstained with α-Tubulin Mouse mAb (W0051, dilution 1:400) followed by incubation with 488-conjugated Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) (SA0662, dilution 1:500) (Green).DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue).Objective: 100x.

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is a negative regulator of glucose homeostasis and is involved in energy metabolism, inflammation, ER-stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and apoptotic pathways. Defects in this gene have been associated with Parkinson disease and Alzheimer disease.
