Confocal imaging of paraffin-embedded Rat brain tissue using Phospho-Tau-T231 Rabbit mAb (M0342, dilution 1:100) followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (SA1138, dilution 1:500) (Red).DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue).Objective: 40x.Perform microwave antigen retrieval with 0.01 M citrate buffer (pH 6.0) prior to IF staining.

Description
This gene encodes the microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) whose transcript undergoes complex, regulated alternative splicing, giving rise to several mRNA species. MAPT transcripts are differentially expressed in the nervous system, depending on stage of neuronal maturation and neuron type. MAPT gene mutations have been associated with several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy.

Immunogen

Specificity
The antibody detects endogenous levels of Tau protein only when phosphorylated at Thr231. The antibody does not cross-react with Tau phosphorylated at other sites.

The antibody is provided in liquid form in phosphate - buffered saline with 50% glycerol, 0.05% BSA, and 0.02% sodium azide.
