Confocal imaging of Hep G2 cells using SDPR/Cavin-2 Rabbit mAb (M0280, dilution 1:200) followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (SA1138, dilution 1:500) (Red).The cells were counterstained with α-Tubulin Mouse mAb (W0051, dilution 1:400) followed by incubation with 488-conjugated Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) (SA0662, dilution 1:500) (Green).DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue).Objective: 100x.

Description
This gene encodes a calcium-independent phospholipid-binding protein whose expression increases in serum-starved cells. This protein is a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation and recruits polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF) to caveolae. Removal of this protein causes caveolae loss and its over-expression results in caveolae deformation and membrane tubulation.
