Podoplanin (AB1449) mouse mAb
Description
Podoplanin, also known as D2-40 or M2A, is a 38 kDa type I transmembrane mucin with multiple O-glycosylation sites. It is highly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells, but not in blood vessels. In addition, it is also expressed in a variety of cells, such as mesothelial cells and type I alveolar epithelial cells, follicular dendritic cells, reticular cells, ovarian and testicular germ cells. Podoplanin is a very useful marker to distinguish malignant mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma, seminoma and follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. It is also the main choice to show and quantify lymphatic and intravascular tumor infiltration.

Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to the amino acid region 23 - 100 of the human Podoplanin protein.
Specificity
The antibody can specifically recognize human Podoplanin protein. In western blotting of U2O2 cell lysate, the antibody can label a 36 kDa band corresponding to Podoplanin.
Formulation
The antibody is provided in liquid form in phosphate - buffered saline with 50% glycerol, 0.05% BSA, and 0.05% Proclin 300.
Purification
The antibody was purified by protein G affinity chromatography.
